What’s Included in a Home Teeth Whitening Kit?
An at-home teeth whitening kit includes gels, shade tabs, and whitening trays. Kits bought from Complete Smiles also include dental supervision.
Professional‑Strength Whitening Gel
The whitening gel lifts stains from your teeth without damaging the enamel. The gel strength varies between the kits.
Shade Tabs
The shade tab helps you and your dentist assess the level of teeth staining and then monitor progress once treatment begins.
Instructions Manual
Each kit comes with a leaflet explaining how long to wear the trays, how often to whiten, and how to get the best results safely.
Dentist Prescription and Supervision
The whitening kits are prescription-only and will be provided by a dentist following an oral examination.

Common questions about teeth whitening
At-home teeth whitening is generally safe. Your treatment will be prescribed and supervised by a dentist. The whitening gels are professional strength and approved for dental use, and your treatment will be tailored to your teeth and sensitivity level.
Most patients start seeing noticeable results within 1–2 weeks. However, the results will vary depending on the kit you use. The Phillips Zoom! Kits deliver faster results, but the Boutique kits can deliver whiter results gradually.
Whitening results can last several months or even a few years, depending on your diet, lifestyle, and oral hygiene habits. You can hold onto your results longer by not smoking, brushing regularly, avoiding enamel-staining foods, and keeping up with your regular dental checkups.
Technically, yes, you can use whitening trays with your Invisalign aligners, but it requires a lot of caution. Therefore, dentists recommend waiting to use whitening kits once your clear aligner treatment ends. When your teeth are correctly aligned, it allows the whitening effect to apply more evenly.
Some patients may experience temporary sensitivity, but this is usually mild and short-lived. Both Boutique and Philips Zoom include formulas designed to minimise sensitivity. Our dentists can recommend desensitising toothpaste or gels if needed.
At-home whitening kits (Boutique & Philips Zoom!) use custom trays and gels prescribed by your dentist. In-clinic whitening is done by dentists using higher-grade peroxide gels and lasers.
Whitening is suitable for most adults, except for pregnant or breastfeeding women and people with untreated dental problems (such as cavities, gum disease). Teeth whitening kits are not prescribed for dental crowns, veneers, or fillings, as these won’t whiten.
Boutique Whitening is best for those who want a premium-grade kit. Philips Zoom is great if you want a simple, streamlined kit with fast results and built-in sensitivity protection. You can discuss suitability in detail with your dentist during the first consultation.
