Facial Aesthetics Treatments

Say goodbye to fine lines and wrinkles

Our dentists have the experience to give you a new natural look designed to improve your features, but not to change them so much that you are no longer you.

We’ve all seen examples of celebrities with silly looks or with overflowing lips; this can be very stressful for a new client who is considering their first treatment. This stress can all be avoided when you are treated by experienced medical professionals who fully understand facial makeup and how your perfect look needs to be made with gentle, balanced products.

Our dentists have received the finest training from industry leaders and work in conjunction with many different facial beauty companies. This has made it possible for our dentists to obtain a wide range of information surrounding the range of products available.

Together, they have many years of experience in learning to manage patient expectations, using advanced techniques, and passing on the information of what can be achieved with each product.

Botulinum Toxin (Botox):
If you want to reduce the lines on your face without having to go through surgical procedures, the great news is that facial rejuvenation procedures can soften wrinkles for a more youthful appearance. The advantage of having this treatment done by dentists is that they have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the facial anatomy and can perform this delicate and efficient work in a precise manner.

How does Botox work?
Once injected into the skin, the botulinum toxin (botox) relaxes the tiny facial muscles, which cause expression lines, by blocking the nerve impulses in them, leaving the skin looking polished. Areas on the face that can be treated include frown lines (vertical lines which form between the eyebrows), eyebrows, crow’s feet, forehead lines and lines around the mouth and top lip, known as ‘smoker’s lines’.

The botulinum injection is quick and painless; usually will last around 5-10 minutes and requires no antiseptic. Results will usually be seen in a few days, sometimes taking between 4-7 days for the effects to be seen. As it’s not a permanent treatment, the effects will wear off over time, so it’s recommended that the procedure is repeated every three months for effective results.

Dermal Fillers:
There is a difference between the botulinum toxin and dermal fillers. The former relaxes the muscles whereas the fillers fill and plump up lines, wrinkles and grooves to make the skin look younger. Fillers usually consist of sterile hyaluronic acid gels made from non-animal sources. As we grow older the skin’s natural hyaluronic acid is lost giving rise to the appearance of lines and folds. Injecting fillers into the skin acts to replace the hyaluronic acid that is lost with age. They are also used for lip enhancement and for shaping facial, hand and neck contours.

How do Dermal Filler Treatment work?
The injections, which only take a few minutes, are usually administered after a local anaesthetic has been applied either directly onto the skin, or included into the syringe containing the filler. This serves to reduce any discomfort. The effect of the treatment is visible immediately. Depending on the area treated, skin type and the injection technique, the filler effect can last between six and twelve months (usually six months for lips). Follow-up treatments will help to maintain the plumped up look over time.

Facial Aesthetics FAQs

Just before all the procedures, we use a topical anaesthetic cream that works very well. This is left for 15 to 20 minutes and will cause the area to become numb. All of our skin lotion products also contain Lidocaine (a local anaesthetic) to make the procedure more comfortable. For a collection of areas such as the cheeks and under the eye, a local anaesthetic injection can also be used to further your relief. It ensures a stress-free and very comfortable treatment. Some clients who have had a painful treatment experience elsewhere are amazed at how painless our services can be.

You may experience minor bruising and/or swelling a few days after your treatment. This is a common reaction from your body. However, this response may vary from client to client and from treatment to therapy; but most treatments heal very quickly. You will be given pre-and post-treatment advice on how to prepare yourself before receiving your treatment and how to deal with other side effects such as inflammation and injury, thus ensuring your treatment has lasting results. Clients often return to work and routine after treatment. Makeup can be applied 4 hours after the treatment.

Usually, the appointment of a skin rejuvenation treatment will last about 60 minutes. This will allow you enough time to ask any questions you may still have before starting your treatment. Our clinician will gently numb the treatment site or sites, and once they are numb, they will start your treatment. Prescription treatment for wrinkles is usually 30-60 minutes (depending on how many areas you wish to treat). For both appointments, there is also time for pre-and post-treatment photos for our and your records.

Dermal Fillers: The effects are usually faster with skin rejuvenation; however, it can take up to 2 weeks to fully integrate. The apparent effect of dermal filler treatments can last between 3 months to 2 years on average, depending on the filling used and the area treated. The effect fades gradually as the filling naturally decreases in the body. This often happens gradually eventually returning to your original appearance. Anti-wrinkle injections: You will notice the improvement of the lines, and the skin will appear smoother in the following five to ten days, however, the full effect will appear in 2 weeks, when our dentists may wish to see you for a medical review, especially if you are a new client. In the review, our dentist examines whether any adjustments are needed. If so, this does not cost you anything. Review appointments are a great way for our clinic to be able to measure your satisfaction and get the best results for you. If you are new to the idea of facial aesthetic treatments and would like to know more, Our dentists have a wealth of experience in providing simple treatments for both wrinkles and dermal fillers - you can discuss this in consultation with a specialist.

This is up to you. We want our clients to look naturally young and beautiful, but importantly, to achieve results that please them. With simple and hidden treatments and our experienced dentists, even close friends may not be able to tell you that you have been treated. They may say you look good or refreshed, but they won't figure out why, so it might be a little secret if you want to keep it that way. After lip treatment, the lips may become slightly swollen for a few days, so we advise patients not to make any solid plans if they don't want friends and family to know. Natural remedies for wrinkles and skin rejuvenation treatments have become very popular and accessible, with many of our clients recommending their families and friends at our clinic after receiving treatment.
